RUSSELLVILLE – Doris Jean Byars, 86, of Russellville, died Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 1:05AM at Greenville Nursing and Rehab.  Doris was born November 12, 1934, in Muhlenberg County.  She was a homemaker and member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.  Her fondest memories were of her seven children, all of whom she adored.  She loved to watch the interaction, the kidding, and love that her adult children shared with one another.  Doris was very proud of all of her family, including her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Rutherford; second husband Bernard R. Byars; son Jeff Rutherford;; grandson Jamie Steele; and parents Delbert and Ethel Chumley.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Butch) Joines of Beech Creek, Diane Rutherford of Russellville, and Gina (Terry) Snodgrass of Central City; sons Rev. Steve (Diane) Rutherford of Nortonville, Mark (Cindy) Rutherford of Belton, and Robin (Beth) Rutherford of Russellville; sister Patty Chumley; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Steve Rutherford officiating, assisted by Rev. Calvin Naylor.  Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday after 5:00PM at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
