Doris met the love of her life at the IGA in Greenville while showing Stanley Home Products to her cousin. Larry ordered a comb and the rest was history. Doris was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Depoy for 62 years where she earned the title of “The General” for her ability to organize and coordinate activities, decorate, lead the singing, and act as church secretary.
Though she had many, her favorite past times included taking care of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending time with good friends, shopping for bargains, reading, buying and delivering boxes of Amish tomatoes, collecting antiques, traveling to the Smokies, and cooking great food.
