OWENSBORO – Devin Lee Jessup, 38, of Owensboro, died Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 1:23PM at his residence. Mr. Jessup was born April 17, 1987 in Muhlenberg County. He was a member of Beechmont Missionary Baptist Church and worked in the Mortgage Loan Department of One Main Financial Corporation of Evansville. He spent his free time studying different religions, being supportive of Am Vet’s in Owensboro, reading, playing pool, doing karaoke, officiating several marriages, and getting together with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Deward and Ruby Shepherd. He never met a stranger, and was loved by everyone who met him.

He is survived by his mother, Jetter Jessup; and bonus sister, Austyn (Brandon) Hayes.

There will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 12:00pm – 4:00PM at Beechmont Missionary Baptist Church in the fellowship hall. Devin, you were a close friend to my daughters and always nice to me. My sincere condolences to Jetter and all of those who will miss him.

There's no way to summarize all the days spent with Devin, and all the days ahead I will miss him. I've never had a friend who was more supportive, forgiving, caring and generous. I wanted him to have amazing adventures ahead, but at least I know his life had already been filled with so many amazing adventures and memories that he enjoyed reliving often and made him happy. He lived his life well and he loved without limits. He will be remembered by so many people and his legacy will live on.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Devin. It was a privilege to work with Devin in several different roles— his dedication, kindness, and professionalism left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He certainly made an impact while here. My thoughts are with his friends and family during this difficult time.

Sad to hear of your passing. We always had great conversations back in the day. Prayers for friends and family.

I worked with Devin at US Bank Mortgage Division for about four years. He had such a kind soul and demeanor. My heartfelt prayers and thoughts to his family- may you find peace in knowing how much Devin touched others just by being himself.

Oh my dear friend. 😢 You were always one of my favorite people. One of my SOUL friends. Your positivity lit up any room that you walked in and you were always KIND beyond measure.. I believe that anyone that truly knew you, loved you deeply. I hope you knew and felt that. You always listened without prejudice and with healing intent. I KNOW how special you were. Thank you for all our talks and laughs. I will miss you!

When Devin started working with me he was so nice and such a gentleman. He could always make me smile. He always had a smile on his face. You will be missed Devin.

Never met a stranger-that was Devin to a T. I met him in highschool, and he was one of the good few who showed me that not everyone sucks. First time we met, he talked to me like I was an old friend he hadnt spoken to in years. He had refined tastes but wasnt snobby about anything. I had intended to reach out to him, but decided there was no rush, since there was plenty of time. Kevin Mitchell, reach out, dude! Nobody seems to know how to reach you. I already checked in on the Fox. Devin, enjoy the smooth jazz and chess in heaven,brother!

Butch and I were married by Devon. He played pool with Butch and the crew at Our Place. Very nice guy. Deepest sympathies
