Delbert Dockery 12/8/2008 Delbert Dockery, 333 Weikel Drive, Apt. A, Owensboro, went to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, and passed away at Bon Harbor Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center. He was born Dec. 13, 1940, to Genoa Italy Dockery and Willie Virginia Dockery in Moselyville. He retired in 2003 from Industrial Mold and Machine Co. and had worked for exterminating companies. He worked for many years at Orkin Exterminating Co., where he won many sales awards, including the No. 1 Salesman of Kentucky Award. Delbert was a very proud member of South Carrollton Missionary Baptist Church. He was united in marriage at the church to his wife, Carlene, on May 16, 1981. He was a very dedicated 3rd-degree master Mason, past master of Yellow Banks Lodge No. 957 in Owensboro and a devoted member of Acacia No. 46 Order of the Eastern Star of Owensboro. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James F. Rea Sr.; a brother, Ralph Gerald Dockery Sr.; divorced wife Martha Sue Dockery; both parents; a sister, Patricia Nontell; and a special brother-in-law, Jim Reed. Delbert had a strong and unique love for his wife, family and friends. He never held a grudge, always wanted continuous love, peace, harmony and fun. He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Carlene Dockery of Owensboro; five daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Fearon (Todd Rowles) of Burnswick, Ohio, Kathy Sue McGlothlin (Tim), Debra Gray (Jeff), Cathy Mann (Mike Morris) and Carla Higdon (Keith), all of Owensboro; a sister, Jan Reed of Owensboro; a brother, James Rea of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren, Bill Gaulin, Matthew, Neely, Owen and Emily McGlothlin, Virginia and Jaycob Gray, Brittany and Matt Howard and Logan and Tori Higdon; several nieces and nephews; and our family agreed adopted daughter, Leslie Ballard of Owensboro. Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, conducted by the Rev. Greg Brooks. Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in South Carrollton. Masonic services are at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Delbert would be greatly honored if Masonic services were attended by all his family, friends and Masons.
