BEECH CREEK – After a very short battle with cancer, Debra Gorham of Beech Creek, KY, surrounded by her loving family, transitioned to her Heavenly home on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
Debra began her incredible life’s journey on September 4, 1955 in Hazard, KY. She was the third daughter of Ralph and Polly Aldridge. In 1977 she married the love of her life, Roger Gorham. Their home was blessed with two wonderful children, Gavin and Rogaleigh. Her love for her grandchildren was beyond measure. She treasured family
“game nights” and time spent on her porch, around the firepit with family and friends.
Debra’s life was one of service. She retired from the board of education after teaching head start. She was proud of the time she spent with kids and often was heard to say proudly “I had your son/daughter in school”. Debra was a faithful member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church for 50 years where she served on the kitchen committee and helped teach Sunday school through the years.
After the death of Roger, Debbie became actively involved with Hope 2 All Food Ministry, most recently serving as director of the organization. Over the past 13 years, numerous families have been encouraged and benefited from Debbie’s work. She untiringly and unselfishly gave of her time, energy and resources to give food, as well as other physical and spiritual needs in Muhlenberg County residents. She often spoke of the Hope 2 All volunteers as her extended family, describing them as “amazing”. In reality, they were demonstrating what it means to “LOVE LIKE DEBBIE”.
Debra was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger Gorham; and parents, Ralph Aldridge and Polly Aldridge Collier.
She is survived by her children, Gavin (Shannon) Gorham, Rogaleigh (Steven) Gee;
grandchildren, Ethan Gee, Gracey Dukes, Gage Gorham, Remington Gorham, Addison Gee, lan Gorham, and Rogen Gee; sisters, Patricia Williams, Gail McIntosh, Linda (Ron) Orange; stepfather, Raymond Collier; and many nieces and nephews.
While her earthly journey has ended and she has joyfully reunited with Roger for eternity, the impact Debbie has had on so many will live on. It is no surprise, as much as Debbie loved flowers, she loved helping others more. So, in lieu of flowers, it was her request that donations be made to further the ministry of Hope 2 All Food Pantry, PO Box 303 Drakesboro, KY 42337.
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 3PM at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Drakesboro with Bro. Scott Casebier officiating, assisted by Bro. Jeremy Whitney. Burial and Graveside to follow in Ebenezer Cemetery with Bro. Travis Fox officiating. Visitation will be Sunday at 2PM at the church. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
