CENTRAL CITY – Deborah “Debbye” (Rust) Schroader, 74, of Central City, KY, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Concordia Nursing and Rehabilitation – Maple, Greenville, KY.
Debbye was born in Central City, KY on June 25, 1950 to Leland and Lorene (Tooley) Rust, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her three older brothers, Bobby Rust, Timothy Rust, and Sherley “Rusty” Rust, and her mother-in-law, Kathleen Schroader.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years, Pastor Wayne Schroader, of Central City, KY; three daughters, Leslie Flener, of Bremen, KY, Betty Minton (David), of Racine, MO, and Kimberly Embry (Todd) of Grayville, IL; six grandchildren, Kaleigh James (Robby), of Nortonville, KY, Landon Flener (Lexi), of Greenville, KY, Emily and Clara Minton, of Racine, MO, Madelyn and Tanner Embry, of Grayville, IL; four great-grandchildren, Brielle, Gracelyn, and Jordan James, and Rylan Flener.
Debbye’s hobbies included working word search puzzles and crocheting. She always had a word search puzzle nearby or a crochet project in the process. Debbye could be counted on to create beautiful blankets or doilies for those she loved. After her stroke in October 2014, she had to give up the crochet, but continued to work her word search puzzles.
But the number one, most important thing in her life was her God. She was a faithful saint and organist. Debbye received the gift of the Holy Ghost in 1961 at the age of 11 years old and lived faithfully for God throughout her life.
