CENTRAL CITY- David Wynne Durham, 59, of Central City died Saturday, January 27, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Durham was born in Muhlenberg County on December 21, 1964. David enjoyed working on cars at a very young age. After graduating from Central City High School he attended Madisonville Community Vocational School for Mechanics where he began his career at Parham’s Motor Company. He then went on to become Shop Foreman for two other dealerships before he went to the Muhlenberg County Board of Education where he worked his way up from Lead Mechanic to Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor and then to Transportation Director. David then moved to Hopkins County Board of Education to finish out his career. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Durham; mother, Mamie Nell Wynne-Durham; father-in-law, Richard Noffsinger.

Surviving family include his Wife of 37 Years, Terri Durham; sister, Jennie (Doug) Shaver of Owensboro, Jo Nell (Gene Ray) Stewart of Central City; mother-in-law, Judi Noffsinger; brother and sister in law, Brent (Stephanie) Noffsinger; nephews, Chris (Stephanie) Shaver of Owensboro, Jacob (Hollie) Noffsinger, Mason (Kaylea) Noffsinger; nieces, Dr. Kimberly Shain of Murfreesboro; great nephews, Hunter (Haley) Shaver of Murfreesboro, Jack Shain of Murfreesboro; great niece, Hadley Shaver of Lexington, KY, and Libby Faith Noffsinger; great-great nephew, Banks Shaver.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Fairmount Cemetery with Bro. Terry Chaney officiating. Tucker Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Muhlenberg County humane society (in the name of Rosie).

First all honor an glory to God, This dude was genuine we went to school together from Elementray to CCHS 83 David Durham was à man that gave me chance in the early 90s when my life was shipwreck or reckless however God led me to this man for a job D.Durham was a boss à friend à brother from another mother I ended up getting in troble while working for him and he still kepted me on his team, I have much love respect for him an his wife ,Terry keep yuh head up, sometimes theres beauty in the struggle God bless R.I.P David Durham.

Terri, we are so sorry 😞 we still can’t believe it, it’s like a bad dream. Billy thought of him as a brother and will miss him dearly. When you work with someone day in and day out like Billy did, you can’t help but love him and miss him everyday from now on. I’m personally glad we all got to ride in the bus for the Christmas parade, that was so much fun. If you need anything at all Terri, please just call or come visit. Love and prayers to you, and all of David’s friends and family.

Had so many great times with David back in the pinto days. He was always was a happy go lucky guy. We never know what people are going through in life. He will be missed and my prayers go out to the family.

Terri, Jo Nell and family… what can I say except I’m so very sorry to hear of David’s passing. I’ve known David nearly all of my life and it’s hard to imagine he’s gone. He was such a good/nice guy. May God comfort all you in the days to come.

So very sorry to hear this. I worked for Whayne Supply, now Boyd Cat, for many years in the school bus division. I talked with Dave several times a week from the time he was at Muhlenberg Co and then at Hopkins Co. Sometimes he would call just to talk and I always enjoyed speaking with him. He was a very good man and I considered him a friend as well as a customer. I'll be praying for all his family and friends. God Bless you all with comfort and strength for the days ahead. He will be greatly missed.

Terri, So sorry to learn of David's passing. He was such a nice person and we always enjoyed stopping to chat with him (and you) when we were passing and you guys happened to be taking a rare break. David was my best friend in high school. We had a lot of great times together. I'm going to miss him. I wish I had tried to see him more than I did. That's something that I'll regret for the rest of my life. I'm praying for all of his family. It's a great loss.

Just found out about David this morning at church. I’ve been meaning to stop at the bus garage to see him. I was a former employee at the bus garage and even though I was no longer employed there we kept in touch. I will always remember him as good and decent man and my heart goes out to his wife Terry, may God bless.
