GREENVILLE – David Gaines Probus, age 39, of Greenville died Saturday September 2, 2017 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Mr. Probus was born May 19, 1978 in Harrison County, Ky. He was the Director of the Felix E. Martin Jr. Hall since its opening in 2012 and was a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Greenville. He is survived by his wife Laura Edwards Probus of Greenville, and his children Anna and William Probus of Greenville; parents Honorable William and Ann Probus of Versailles, KY; brother Todd (Kelly) Probus of Versailles, KY; nieces Eva Kate and Emma Probus of Versailles, Ky. Funeral services will be Wednesday September 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Second Baptist Church in Greenville with Tom Stovall officiating and assisted by Chris Dennis. Visitation will be Tuesday after 5:00 PM at Second Baptist Church in Greenville. Graveside services and burial will be Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 12 Noon EST at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Ky. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Felix E. David was a deacon at my church and also helped with many plays I was in and did audio at our church too. My family and I were and still are very close to the Probus/Edwards family and it hurt my family dearly by hearing and seeing the passing of David. We love him and will never forget David. We all love and miss you dearly David! Fly high!!!

Myself along with my colleagues Tracey McFarland, Barbara Cooley and Monica Smith of InHouse Booking are very saddened by the news of passing of David.

Since 2012 we enjoyed working with David and he was a big supporter of our shows.

David was the best director that ever lived.Its sad that he passed away but,now he is in a better place now. He loved all his students so much and I loved him.

This is so tragic. David was beloved by us all. I pray that God will sustain you during this difficult time and in the future. He loved his family.

Deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. I was excited to see that he was registered to attend the Performing Arts Exchange in Atlanta later this month and was looking forward to catching up with him. Sincerest sympathy to his family. He will be greatly missed.

Laura, children, Bill, and Ann, I am so saddened to hear about the passing of David. I had the privilege of working some with David at Calvary Baptist Church in Lexington Ky. I am sorry to hear about the passing of David. I knew him for Calvary Baptist Church when he was in the youth group there . He was a nice guy and liked to play jokes on people in the youth group.He always there to help out when he could . He was a good worker and a hard one also . He will be missed by all. He is now in a better place watching over us. R.I.P. David

You helped all of us to grow, spiritually and as singers. I remember each of you with fondness and respect--which makes this loss so tragic. I am praying right now for you and your extended family.

David was more than a teacher, mentor, and director. He was a great friend that I will forever miss. David influence my life in ways I cannot express enough gratitude for. He provided a place of solace in martin hall during and after school by allowing myself and five others to be student interns. David trusted me and the others with very important things within Martin hall that gave each of my classmates and I a sense of honor and importance. David also was always a listening ear to rant about classes or shows stress. I know that many can say that David was an influence on their life. I, along with many others, will miss David greatly. My prayers are with all of his family and friends, especially Laura, Anna and Will.

We are deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. Know that while his life was short, he touched many with his gracious spirit and presence. He made a difference, and that is a life worth living.

We know first hand there are no words that can truly comfort you at this time, but we do know that friends and family will be praying along with our family for all of you. I am so saddened to hear of the loss of David. Growing up he was such a sweet soul and although I lost touch after school years, I am positive he remained a sweet soul who was giving to others. He was always a caring friend and was appreciated more than he knew.
My heart goes out to you.

We met David at the first winter ball soon after you moved here. He was such a nice young man and our area was blessed to have him head the Felix Martin Center. We are shocked and saddened by your loss and hope you know we will be praying for you Laura and your family in the days ahead. God bless and we will never forget David.

Sadness fills my heart at the loss of my "brother". I have and always cherish the times I spent with Todd and David. I am sending lots of prayers your way for peace and comfort during this time.

The sudden passing of David leaves us all in shock and pain. In those difficult times, I like to remind myself of the wunderful and funny times that we spent with him in Martin Hall and of the cheerful person that he was. I am also sending out my prayers to his wife, his children, family and friends. Muhlenberg County has lost a great memorable man.

I am so heavy hearted to hear of the passing of my childhood friend. I have so many memories of youth group trips and working together on Beauty and the Beast in high school. . David was always so fun to be around. I will always remember him standing in the back taking care of the sound and making us sound good..more than that I will always remember what a great friend and kind heart My prayers are with the Probus family during this time.
