Sean and Jill and other family members, I would just like to send my prayers to you and tell you how much it hurt my heart to hear of your loss. David and Linda were like family to us at Mclean County back in 1979. They always showed their love with a bright smile and a pat on the back when it was needed. Coach Holland will stay with me forever, and I was able to use many of his methods in my own coaching career. You should be very proud of their lives on this earth, they touched so many in a positive way. God go with you!

Sean and Jill, I wanted to say to you that i loved your mother and father, and I will never forget how they treated me in High School. They were so nurturing and loving to everyone, and always had open arms for you. I also remember you guys running around as kids in the gym during practices, and it is fun to think of all the times we called you cha-cha Sean and how we used to carry you guys around and how much fun David had with that. I will cherish the memory of them for the rest of my life, and know it was an honor to have had them in my life, as well as them being a part of my teaching. I am so sorry that I could not make it to the funeral, but I will visit their gravesite and honor them. In closing, I would encourage you to be very proud, which i know you are, they were the greatest!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I will always remember the good times we had at the school board conventions at the Galt House. We always ordered dessert, you would say"Ms Deb, what are we going to try?" When we would have snow days you would call me early so I wouldn't have to wake the kids up and say--"Ms. Deb ,throw another log on the fire." What a wonderful man he was, I will miss him so much.

David was a basketball player with my husband Forrest at Campbellsville College, and I was a cheerleader for the team. I remember David as being such a nice guy to everybody he met. He always had a good word to say and he was just a good friend. I remember he and Linda lived in the married housing section of campus with their little boy Shawn while we were there. I'll never forget David and his kindness. My prayers are with Shawn and Jill and the entire family. May God just surround you with His presence, and may He provide the comfort and strength to go through this tragedy. I loved David and Linda Holland.

I first met David and Linda in Brazil on a Mission trip in 2004. Then served with them again in 2007. Spending such a short time with David, I developed a friendship that I will never forget. Things like laying cocrete blocks in the rain, talking to a Brazilian without a translator, and worshiping God in a foreign land, are just a few of the things I will always remeber doing with David. My heart breaks for the entire family. They will be missed.

Hi Shawn and Jill we wanted to pass on our condolensences to you and your family Our hearts and prayers are with you at this very tragic time we are praying for you all We met your mum and dad on vacation in palm springs with fred and nancy and a great time was had by all, your dad would refer to me as miss ellie (iam not as old as the original one!!) and my husband was refreded to as the "Governor" When we came to stay with Nancy and Fred last september we spent quite alot of time with linda and david - David was mostly on the golf course with fred and norm and one day i thought they they were never coming home when they did David had insisted that the governor go taste some real authentic mexican food- Whilst they were out us women had a tour around the neighbourhood looking at houses, Jill we came to visit you unfortunatly you were out but i was blessed with meeting John who gave me a tour of your beautiful home but i had to wait in the hall upstairs before i could enter the bedroom a very quick tidy had been undertaken (most of it under the bed) he was so proud of his wall and pointed out all the things for me to see on the wall what a wonderful personable young man, he was a credit to you. Your mum relayed a story to me about fred offering him a drink which he duly declined and then went and told grandma that fred had been inappropriate and offered him a drink he obviously thought fred meant alcohol oh we did laugh. I made yorkshire puddings for your dad whilst we were visiting (a tradtional dish here in the UK) your dad wasnt keen and said very politly not fo me i dont think Jill and shawn may the lord bless you and help you remain strong for friday we will be with you in spirit If ever you come to the uk there will always be a place in north yorkshire for you and your family to rest your heads lots of love from norm and ellie for the united kingdom

Coach Holland was our basketball coach at McLean County High School in Calhoun around 1976-77. I was a cheerleader and remember that Coach Holland always had a smile on his face. Then as the years went by, I was so surprised to see him at Henderson County High School where I was a teacher. He still had that same smile and remembered me. He was such a kind man. My heart grieves at the loss his family is going through right now. Please know that prayers are being lifted up. May God comfort you during this difficult time.
