I am so very sad to hear about Davie. He was a good friend in high school. Although he was a year younger than me, he was my first date when I turned 16. He was a fun person. We did kids ministry--children's church, camp, puppets==== he was always enthusiastic and fun to work with. He was really active in our church activities and youth group. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile that .captivated many hearts. He was great with kids. I am sad to hear of his untimely death. I am thinking of you all, especially this weekend. I pray that as you mourn, you will be comforted. I think of this beautiful hymn, which brought me much comfort when my Dad died. . Does Jesus care when I’ve said “goodbye” To the dearest on earth to me, And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks— Is it aught to Him? Does He see Oh, yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares.
