David Lynn Bethel Published: Sunday, November 8, 2009 12:08 AM CST GREENVILLE — David Lynn Bethel, 55, of Greenville died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital following a lengthy illness. David was born July 24, 1954, in Greenville to Clyde and Mae Belle Bethel and was married to the former Linda Gail Curnutt on Aug. 26, 1995. David enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and playing guitar, and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was well loved and will be greatly missed by many. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Bethel, in March 2006. David is survived by his wife of 14 years, Linda; two daughters, JoAnna Anderson of Georgetown, Texas, and Amie Waltrip and husband Luke of Calhoun; a son, Jeff Powers and his girlfriend, Autumn, of Louisville; three granddaughters, Jenna Anderson and Riley Anderson, both of Georgetown, and Alexis Powers of Louisville; three brothers, Ernie Bethel and his wife, Jennie, of Greenville, Wendell Bethel and his wife, Nancy, of Greenville and Tracy Bethel and his wife, Melissa, of Lawrenceburg; a sister, Mary Jarvis and her husband, Billy, of Greenville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Ken Miller officiating, assisted by the Rev. Walter Evitts. Burial will follow in Nebo Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Bethel family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
