BREMEN – Charles Laman Nelson, 93, of Bremen, died Monday, October 28, 2019, at 12:25PM at West Kentucky Veteran’s Center in Hanson. Mr. Nelson was born October 31, 1925, in Muhlenberg County. He was a Kentucky State Representative, coal miner, and also served as Muhlenberg County Coroner. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gilda Nelson; and daughter Charolette Jean Miller.. He is survived by his son, Joe Mack (Mischelle) Nelson of Bremen; grandchildren Melanie (Troy) Curtis of St. Louis, MO, Jean Kevin (Rhymz) Miller of California, Jenni Nelson (Allan) Hale of Greenville, and Amy Fields of Bremen; great-grandchildren Sierra Curtis of St. Louis, MO, Addi Jo Hale of Greenville, and Macy Fields of Bremen; step-great-grandson Austin Hale of Louisville; one niece; and several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 2:00PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with Bro. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Mr. Nelson will lie in state at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Saturday after 11:00AM until time of funeral.
