CENTRAL CITY – Charles F. McGregor, 90, of Central City, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at his home. He was born November 2, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Verna McGregor; first wife Helen Mona McGregor, who he was married to from 1944 until an auto accident resulting in her death in 1979; one son, two brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Brenda Joyce McGregor; three daughters; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson, all from his first marriage. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and served in the Pacific the last four months of the war. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a Kentucky Colonel, and an Honorary Okie. He was also a coal miner, starting as a laborer in 1946; after performing several positions in both labor and management, he retired in 1985 as a mine superintendent for Peabody Coal Company. Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at 11:00AM at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
