Charles ‘Bug’ Harper GREENVILLE — Charles Bug Harper, 74, of 513 Paradise St., Greenville, died at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born June 27, 1935, in Muhlenberg County. He retired from the coal mines as a welder and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Harper; and a brother, Robie Harper. Survivors include his wife, Jean Harper of Greenville; a son, Scott (Nisa) Harper of Calhoun; two daughters, Pam (Billy) Rowlett of Beechmont and Lisa (Steve) Delahoussaye of Boynton, Fla.; two stepsons, Rodney (Diane) Tarrants of Sanford, N.C., and Tom Dewayne (Lisa) Tarrants of Kamden, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie McCauley, Jewell (Willie) Mallory and Betty (Leroy) Harper, all of Greenville; two brothers, Dane Harper of Beechmont and Jim (Carolyn) Harper of Greenville; and a sister-in-law, Glenda Harper of Greenville. Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Tom Sales officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
