CENTRAL CITY – Charles Bennett Greenwood, Jr., 68, of Central City, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at his home. Mr. Greenwood was born July 18, 1942 in Muhlenberg Co., KY. He retired from P & L Rairoad after 38 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Central City. He also served in the National Guard and enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife, June Herbison Greenwood; four daughters, Delisa Greenwood of Central City, Pauletta (Larry) Smith of Beechmont, Linda Ivey of Nashville, TN, and Carol (Richard) Payton of Birmingham, AL; two grandsons, Scott Smith of Greenville and Nick Ivey of Owensboro; a granddaughter, Jobie Lynch of Birmingham, AL; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, William B. Greenwood and David Greenwood, both of Central City; and a sister, Margaret Ann Long of Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday after 9:00AM at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association.
