Charles Hillary Garrett SACRAMENTO — Charles Hillary Garrett, 99, of Gilbertsville, formerly of Sacramento, died at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009, at Marshall County Hospital, Benton. Mr. Garrett was born in Daviess County on Dec. 29, 1909. He was a farmer and member of United Methodist Church, Sacramento. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Garrett; stepson, Wilbert Rickard; four sisters; and six brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Nannie B. (Bill) Turley of Gilbertsville; grandchildren, Chuck (Dorothy) Turley of Seattle, Bob (Dorain )Turley of Villa Ridge, Mo., and Kathy Cook of San Clemente, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Turley and Kimberly Turley, both of Villa Ridge; brothers, Jessie Ray Garrett of Kattawa and Omer Garrett of Okeechobee, Fla.; and a sister, Patricia Perkins of Central City. Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tucker Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mike Rust officiating. Burial will be in Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, Sacramento. Visitation is after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery Fund.
