CENTRAL CITY – Charity Alnetta Steele, 88, of Central City, went home to Heaven peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 9:22AM. She was born July 25, 1929, to the late Altha and Dovie Noffsinger Stovall of Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. After graduating from Bremen High School in 1948, she worked at General Electric until starting a family. Alnetta was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church of Central City, where she worshipped regularly for more than 55 years until her health prevented it. She was a homemaker who loved cooking, caring for her family, camping, and bird watching. Alnetta was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Gaynell Stovall, Agnes Stovall, and Genon Stovall McDonald; and two brothers Charles A. Stovall and Hartsel Stovall. Survivors include her beloved husband of 62 years, James Winfield Steele, whom she married on November 25, 1954; daughter Cathy (Mike) Vinson of Greenville; son Tony (Rose) Steele of Owensboro; grandchildren Jeremy (Jordan) Vinson, Leanne (Chad) Walker, Brooke (Chad) Guffy, Brittany (Grant) Sharp, Jacob Steele, and Catherine Steele; great-grandchildren Maddie and Aubrey Vinson, Abe Walker, Dawson, Isaiah, and Brock Guffy, and Vince and Hattie Sharp; sister Nancy (Clarence) Redfern and sister-in-law Rita Stovall of Owensboro; brother Bob (Linda) Stovall of Calhoun; several nieces and nephews; and devoted caregiver Ruthie Nelson of Graham. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 10:30AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Adam Brown officiating. Burial in Memorial Gardens in Powderly.
