CENTRAL CITY – Carol Darlene Bates, 62, of Central City, died Thursday, January 23, 2020, at 5:35AM at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mrs. Bates was born May 17, 1957, in Muhlenberg County. She was a homemaker and member of Powderly Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Willie Bates; father Butch Daniel; and mother Joyce Cory. She is survived by her brothers, Tony (Debbie) Daniel of Greenville and Austin (Savannah) Daniel of Richmond; sisters Charlotte (Donnie) Morris of Central City and Kay Kay (Travis) Fluaitt of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 26, 2020, at 1:00PM at Powderly Holiness Church, with Bro. Larry Shemwell officiating, assisted by Sister Sharon Shemwell. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday after 5:00PM at Powderly Holiness Church. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.

Darlene has been such a sweet friend and cousin.Before I married i would stay all night with her and her husband.I cherish all those memories.I have watched as my own daughter also became close to her and stayed with her on several occasions after the loss of her husband.Our hearts are so grieved at her passing and we pray that God will strengthen the family during this very hard time in their life.
