SACRAMENTO – Carlos “Jimmy” Markwell, 79, of Sacramento, died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Regional Medical Center. Mr. Markwell was born October 6, 1931 in Bremen, KY. He was a coal miner with Webster County Coal Co. and a member of Sacramento United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Lions Club and Sacramento Masonic Lodge #735. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and building. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Martha Jean Markwell; his son, Jay Markwell; and a brother, Hollis Markwell. Survivors include his daughter, Greta Markwell (Stacey) Lannum of Richmond, KY; a son, Ray Markwell of Sacramento, four grandchildren, Tristen Markwell, Ava Lannum, Alayna Lannum, and Mason Lannum; four sisters, Margola Whaley of Owensboro, Genola Ford and Vi Woodburn, both of Breman, and Tootsie Turley of Sacramento; a brother, Ottis Markwell of Sacramento; and 22 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 1:00PM at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento, with Bro. Leslie Moody officiating. Burial in Gish Cemetery in Bremen.
