Providence – Brenda Calvert, 72, of Providence, Kentucky, died Friday, August 29, 2025 at 2:02a.m. at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. Ms. Calvert was born October 21, 1952 in Muhlenberg. She was a home maker, and she was of the Baptist faith. She was an incredible florist, and would always gift the family with the beautiful arrangements she made. She was also one of the top female welders in the state of Kentucky, and met her husband in trade school. She adored her grandchildren, and loved her cats, Bella, Gracie, and BoBo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Francis McKie.

She is survived by darling husband, Jeffery Calvert; sons, Kristopher Scott Mayes, Walter Kevin, William Matthew Buchanan; daughter, Valerie Lee Hood; grandchildren, Kameron Mayes, Kayla Mayes, Meghan Corona, MaKayla Mayes, Scotty Mayes, Chelsea Baker, Carli Baker, and Casranda Hood; brother, Robert Bandy; sister, Peggy McKie; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

I am so sorry.I have so many fond memories of Brenda.Prayers for family and friends.

I want to thank my brother Matt for all he has done for mom over the years. He has been there for her through everything.

Brenda and I went to school together. My husband and Carl were good friends. Remember Valerie as a little girl. Over the years we lost touch. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Valerie not sure if you remember us. Our daughter is Jerri Ann. You are close in age. Peggy so sorry about the loss of your sister. Your in our prayers. Jerry and Glenda (Kelley)Harper.
