GREENVILLE – Bonnie Lee Jones, 84, of Greenville passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 5:15PM at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro to be with the Lord. Ms. Jones was born August 9, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a remarkable woman who was loved and admired by many. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She went to join her mother; husband, Jesse Jones; daughter, Shirley Farmer Whitsell; beloved son-in-law, Ralph Proffitt; along with several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her sons, James Anthony Farmer of TN, Mark Anthony (Christy) Jones of Greenville, KY; three daughters, Mary Sue (Balous) Gibson of Greenville, KY, Peggy Daina Proffitt of GA, and Cindy Brakes of Greenville, KY; grandchildren, Bonnie Reese, Jason Farmer, Jennifer Farmer, Dana and Billy Gibson, April (Steven) Clark, Jeremy, Jesse, and Joseph Proffitt, Debbie, Danny, Peter, Ashley, Caroline, and Emily Putman, Jessica Jones, and Erica Mart; and 17 great-grandchildren. She will be truly missed.

Memorial services will be Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 1PM at Vernal Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville with Bro. Nick Holeman officiating. Burial is private.
