CENTRAL CITY – Bobby Joe Nannie, 84 of Central City, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Maple Health and Rehabilitation. He was Born December 19, 1939, to the late Claude and Josephine Adcock Nannie. Through his life he worked construction, but his greatest calling in life was his service to the Lord as a preacher of the Baptist Faith. Bobby Joe was a man with a heart full of love, first and foremost for Jesus Christ. His other greatest loves were his late wife Nora Ellen Maida Nannie, his son Bobby Anthony Nannie and twinkle of his bright blue eyes, his 5 granddaughters, who if you knew him, you definitely knew them because he spoke of them and showed pictures to everyone he encountered, and then his great- grandchildren those girls gave him. He loved his family with a deep love whether you had been gone two days or two years, and he always had a big smile and hug waiting for you.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Claude Nannie; wife Nora Ellen Maida Nannie; a daughter, Theresa Jane Nannie; brothers Robert Nannie, Dallas Nannie, Earl Nannie and Merle Nannie; sisters Charlotte Ann Vernon, Wilda Dean Gray, Alice Nannie and Barbara Pethel; and great-grandchildren Abbigail Piper and Karston Piper.
He is survived by one son, Bobby Anthony Nannie of Central City; a sister, Betty Sue Jones of Powderly; five granddaughters, Leslie Goff (Ronnie Cotton) of Calhoun, Sarah Goad (Tim) of Scottsville, and Toni Nannie (Bailey Sherrod), Cortnie Piper (Justin), and Skylar Kay Nannie, all of Central City; 11 great-grandchildren, James Goff, Emily Smith (Brian Tichenor), William Crabtree, Bryceson Bowen (Haleigh McGregor), Jackson Bowen, Kylee Morris, Brinlee Morris, Oaklee Sherrod, Kamdyn Piper, Kaydynce Piper, and Keeli Piper.
