CENTRAL CITY – Bobbie Ruth Watkins, 82, of Central City, went home to meet her Heavenly Father on January 3, 2017. Bobbie was with family when she passed peacefully. There she joined her husband of 56 years, Bob Watkins. Bobbie was born to Walter and Ruth Narzinsky on April 28, 1934, in El Paso, Texas. The second of three children, she is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Nancy Fosnow, and brother, Robert Narzinsky. Bobbie was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. A graduate of the University of Colorado, Bobbie taught Spanish briefly at both Bremen and Central City High Schools. She and Bob owned and operated Watkins Tastee Freeze, later named the Burger Whip in Central City. A devoted mother of six children, she will be greatly missed by Myra Lukac MacLaughlin (Chris) of Cadiz, Mary Dossett (Dale) of Cadiz, Jane Newman (David) of Wilkes Barre, PA, Sally Washburn (Chet) of Central City, Taylor Watkins (Jacque) of Chicago, IL, and Booker Watkins of Greenville. Along with her children, she is survived by thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. An accomplished oil painter, Bobbie enjoyed other pastimes such as carving, gardening, reading, spending time with her beloved dog, Hattie, and in later years, enjoying new friends at the Courtyard where she lived for the last four and a half years. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at the Central City First United Methodist Church in Central City with a visitation from 9:00 – 11:00 and service at 11:00 o’clock. The family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Muhlenberg County Humane Society or Bright Life Farms (Princeton). Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
