BEAVER DAM – Billy Glenn Nelson, 82, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 11:02PM, surrounded by those who loved him, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, love for his family, and appreciation for the simple things in life.

Billy was born on May 10, 1944 in Muhlenberg County. He spent many years working in the timber industry and the coal mines. He believed in working hard and providing for his family. Those who knew him will remember his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and dependable nature.

Outside of work, Billy enjoyed spending time fishing, tending his garden, and relaxing with a cold RC. He had a special love for animals and cared deeply for every pet that found its way into his life. More than anything, he loved being with his family and treasured the time they spent together.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dora Nelson; his three daughters and their husbands, Debbie and Jeff Embry, Jill and Troy Hobgood, and Kim and Terry Jacobs. He is also survived by many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews along with extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 10, 2026 at 12PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Mike Foster officiating, assisted by Bro. Jerry Alexander. Burial will be in Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8PM and Monday after 8AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
