GREENVILLE — Bessie Lear, 86, of Greenville died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was born on Feb. 13, 1925, in Muhlenberg County. She was a homemaker and member of Bards Hill General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ray Lear; a great-grandson, Ethan Gordon; two sons-in-law, the Rev. Steve DeArmond and the Rev. Tony McCall; and her parents, Lucian and Vinnie Groves. Survivors include a son, Danny (Janice) Lear of Greenville; two daughters, Debbie DeArmond of Greenville and Donna McCall of Evansville; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeff) Gordon, Amy (Kevin) Chmura, Dana (Kevin) Brantley, Jonathan (Danyele) DeArmond, Beth (Rob) Jenkins and Drew McCall; and 10 great-grandchildren, Paige, Justin, Slaton, Luke, Kristi, Danny, Kimberly, Hayes, Lexi and Wesley. Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Ricky Peterson officiating, assisted by the Rev. Darren Pentecost.
