GREENVILLE – Bernice “David” Cleaver, 75, of Greenville, departed this life on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro after fighting a long-term illness. Mr. Cleaver, son of the late Charlie and Dollie Bloomer Cleaver was born December 3, 1949 in Totz, KY. He served 18 years for the U.S. Army and National Guard, and was a Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Cleaver was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a Construction worker, Body and Mechanic Worker, Railroad worker, and many other things. He had a passion for music that he shared with most of his family. He was a devoted husband to Glenda and a devoted father to his children and many other children he claimed as his own along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ethel Clark, Bob Cleaver, Willie Cleaver, Charles “Cotton” Cleaver, Richard Cleaver, Myrtle Cleaver, Bessie Cleaver, and Larry Wayne Cleaver.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Glenda Cleaver; children, Charlie (Shelia) Jennings of Graham, KY, Erik (Janifer) Strange of Greenville, KY, Makayla (Jonathan) Baldwin of Greenville, KY, Brittney (Joshua) Baldwin of Somerset, KY, Gloria Baldwin of Cumberland, KY, Angel Baldwin of Lynch, KY, Ricky Baldwin of Speedwell, TN, and Samara Riechman of Greenville, KY; grandchildren, Jordan, Destiny, Katie, Mark, Kali, Cory, Cayden, Kaysley, MacKensi, Hunter, Halie, Leeland, Shawna, MCenna, Mason, Nate, Bryland, Brayson, Grayson, Liam, and Jay; and great-grandchildren, Anthony Phelps, Mark Phelps III, and Ryan Tyler.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 12PM at TriCity Funeral Home in Benham, KY. Burial in Sand Hill (Clark) Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 9AM-12PM at the Tri City Funeral Home and on Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 5-8PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City.
