Many wonderful memories of my youth was at Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Bean ended up being my last Sunday School teacher there and she was a GREAT one! Her husband preached both of my parents funerals. My family loved and really looked up to them to their ends on this earth. I know my Mama and Daddy will be 2 people at the pearly gates waiting for her with arms open wide. Every Christmas I think of this family for many reasons. I miss Ernies gifts of perfume he gave me most every year(he was like the big brother I never had), and Mrs. Beans wonderful recipes. My daughter, Amanda Lynn, still makes her Corn/Bean casserole and her Ky Derby Pie every Christmas! Mandy was just 2 1/2 yrs old and my Justin was still in diapers when we left Calvary, but we still have part of The Bean Family recipes to share. It's been years since I've talked to Bro. Bean, Barbara or Ernie. Kind of funny that we both named our daughters Amanda. Guess we had more in common than just the white hair. Prayers for Brother Bean, Ernie and Amanda. I know for sure that Barbara Bean was the glue that kept them going...

I was six years old when I came to Greenvillw to live with my grandparents, Arley and Bessie Howe, and it was at Friendship Baptist Church I first met Mrs. Barbara because Bro. Bean was the pastor then. Very sweet lady and a god pastor's wife. Our love and prayers go to Bro. Bean and the whole family. Ken and Rebecca Howe

Barbara and brother Bean served as interim pastor and wife at my home church, Ebenezer Missionary Baptist in Drakesboro Ky. After getting to know her during that time, she has meant so much to me in my Christian walk Christ. She always encouraged me, as well as many others in our church. One time during VBS, I had a small surgical procedure on my leg. I didn't want it to interfere with my getting to be apart of VBS and so I covered it up, dealt with it and showed up to teach. I was standing during our snack time, when Barbara came over and commented on her noticing my unusual gait while walking, even though I had tried to hide it. I explained what had happened. She encouraged me and lifted my excitement for The Lord by her wonderful words. I was truly blessed to know her. I know with certainty that one day we will share our friendship person to person again throughout eternity. Love her devotion to family, church and mostly God. My family is praying for your family at the passing of Barbara, but celebrating because we know full well she is in the presence of a holy God. May He comfort your grief.

There aren't enough words to describe Barbara Bean. She taught me so much about the love of God, about being a mother and life in general. We shared a lot of good times together and she will be missed by many people especially her loving husband and son. My heart was breaking when I heard this news, but I know that she is in a wonderful place now and is at peace. May God pour his blessings and comfort to everyone for the loss of this wonderful lady. I loved her and Bro. Bean very much, and their son Ernie. God Bless each of you during this time.
