Annatta Bowman Bailey

SACRAMENTO – Annatta Bowman Bailey, 90, of Sacramento died Monday, February 16, 2026 at 6:15AM at her residence in Sacramento. Ms. Bailey was born in McLean County on November 1, 1935. She graduated from Sacramento High School, Class of 1954. She was a member of Worthington Chapel Methodist Church and worked as a Laborer for Ensign Bickford. She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Bailey, Sr.; son, James J. Bailey, Jr.; parents, Elbert “Buck” Bowman, and Marie Murch Bowman Arnold; granddaughter, Nikki Christian; and brothers, Houston Bowman (Thelma), and Hurshel Bowman.

She is survived by her children, Kimbra Miller (Wendell), and Tari Bailey; grandchildren, Jodi, Jesse (Leah), Natalie (Brent), Blaine, and Heath; sister, Idella Ruby (Steve); and many great-grandchildren.

My prayers to the family. In all my visits to Jimmy's in my youth, Annata always treated me like one of hers. She was so kind and loving, and i will always remember her kindness, because we were wild kids. Rest in peace sweet lady!

Sorry to hear of your mom’s passing! We’re never ready to say goodbye…but, wow…face to face with our Savior! I just imagine her reunion with friends & family! With Ginna & my mom, Brenda!! I can “hear” them now-all talking at once & the laughter!!! God bless you & yours in the days to come!

Kim, Tari and family- we are so sorry to learn of Annetta’s passing yesterday. I bet that she and my mother, Shirley Sonner are up there laughing and reminiscing about all the good times they shared over their lifetime of friendship! It didn’t matter where we ran into her, she always had to give Dennie a huge hug and tell me if only she were younger she would lovingly “steal” him from me and then she hugged me!
