DRAKESBORO – Amon Lewis Sumner, 83, of Drakesboro, died Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Maple Health and Rehabilitation in Greenville. Mr. Sumner was born November 2, 1940, in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired coal miner for Caney Creek Coal Co., and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Audrey Sumner; wife, Carolyn Sumner; and son, Phillip Sumner.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Robin) Sumner and Robert (Pam) Sumner; and grandchildren, Joseph Sumner, Vanessa Sumner, Kelcea Smith, Ryan Sumner, Tara Lile Fauver, and Alexis Grant.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 12, 2024, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Scott Casebier officiating. Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday after 11:00AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
