i really did not know her personally i always heard my father (pete) her brother talk about her i remember her nickname was mutt and i always wondered how she got that nickname. i remember meeting her for the first time at my father's funeral she came up to me and my sister liz and introduced herself to us. i remember her being really nice. i just happened to see her obituary a few days ago and i want to pay my respects.

I just read about the recent death of your loved one. The Bible calls death an enemy and that is certainly how it strikes us, as an enemy. Take comfort in knowing that the loving God who created us did not want us to suffer in tears of pain. “He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. And the reproach of his people He will take away from all the earth, for God himself has spoken [it].” Isaiah 25:8. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories as well as these few words, bring you a measure of comfort.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

My mother, Anna Patterson, told me many years ago that Mrs. America wanted to be called American and not Mutt. I was a little girl when I met Mutt as my Aunt Irene and she lived together for a while. She was always the sweetest person. My parents always thought so much of Mutt and Papp. I enjoyed visiting her whenever I went to Sacramento and will really miss those visits. My sincerest sympathy to all of her family.

When I was younger I would come by Mrs. Helm's house and if she was outside I would stop and visit with her. We had some great talks. She would always have good advice to share. She will be sadly missed. Lori

To others her life has been long, to us too short. We did not have enough time to glean all of her knowledge. There is now no one left in the family who can make a proper coconut pie. Aunt Mutt will be miss, but never forgotten.
