GREENVILLE- William Jackson “Billy” Peveler of Greenville died Friday, March 23, 2018 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mr. Peveler was born in Muhlenberg County on November 8, 1932 to Wilbur Peveler and Opal Hill Peveler. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gilda Peveler Nelson, and niece, Charlotte Nelson Miller. After high school Mr. Peveler joined the United States Air Force. He served in the Korean War and was stationed at Nak Nak Airfoce base in Alaska. Later he worked for Ford Motor Company at the assembly plant in Louisville, KY and worked for Peabody Coal Company until he retired in 1989. Billy enjoyed NHRA drag racing, Nascar racing and attended many events. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandsons. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Barbara McClellan Peveler; his children, Scott (LaDonna) Peveler of Greenville, and Todd (Marilyn) Peveler of Powderly; grandchildren, Derek (Beth) Peveler of Gallatin, TN, Dustin (Carrie) Peveler of Greenville, Alex Peveler of Bowling Green; great grandchildren Kaydie, Landon, Marlie, and Becca; brother in law, Charles “Preacher” Nelson; nephew, Joe Mack (Mischelle) Nelson; many great nieces and one great nephew. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Danny Mooneyhan officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
