GREENVILLE – Wendi Paige Shelton Saldana, 55, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 7:00AM She was at Gateway Deaconess Hospital in Newburgh, IN after a month in the hospital. She was born on August 22, 1970 in Hammond, IN to Wendell and Phyllis Shelton. The family moved to Greenville in January of 1971. Wendi attended Greenville Grade School and High School. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Greenville. Wendi worked as a Patient Transporter in Madisonville and Jennie Stuart Hospital for several years. She was a Deputy Jailer for Muhlenberg County and Hopkins County. She worked at Flynn in Greenville. She had several different jobs until she became disabled due to health issues. Wendi enjoyed camping, dancing, being with her friends and family, her dogs, Buddy and Coco, swimming, boating, and traveling. Wendi was preceded in death by her grandparents, Claude and Genara Brasher, and Clint and Loretta Shelton, all of Greenville.
Wendi is survived by her daughter, Danielle Adams and granddaughter, Reece Age, both of Louisville; parents, Wendell and Phyllis Shelton; sisters, Jennifer Deason, Patricia (Brian) Mahan; niece, Autumn LaPradd, all from Greenville, aunt and uncle, Charlie and Martha Zimmerman from Louisville; and cousins from Greenville, Louisville, and Las Vegas.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 11AM at Tucker Funeral Home with Bro. Kelland Lamb officiating, assisted by Dr. Kevin Milburn. Burial in Woodland Cemetery.
