Al Miller left a message on April 26, 2023:
I am deeply saddened to learn of Ronnie’s passing. Ronnie was a good friend to me. Ronnie and I graduated from Central City High School in 1965. Ronnie and others of our class went to work in Hammond, Indiana, and Chicago in steel mills and factories. I stayed behind. I could not get a job there, because I was not 18 years old. The following year, I did go to Hammond, Indiana and was welcomed by Ronnie, Billy Campbell and others of my high school class. Ronnie and the others told me where to go look for a job, what to write when I applied, and how to navigate the bus line. They also helped me find an apartment. I did not have a car, but Ronnie and my other classmates had cars. They drove me around when we weren’t working. Without the friendship of Ronnie and the others I would not have dared to go up North alone and without a car. I appreciated the help and the friendship that Ronnie and my other classmates showed me. I am very grateful for Ronnie. Ronnie was a nice young man who became a fine adult. The world will be a lesser place without him. I am tearful at his passing. Louise, I am so sorry that I did not know about his funeral or visitation. I would have liked to have been there to express my condolences and say so long to Ronnie, for now. May the Lord bless you and your family. Sincerely, Al Miller
