DRAKESBORO – Rodney “Hot Rod” Gale Dorris, 61, of Drakesboro, died Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. Mr. Dorris was born November 8, 1964 in Logan County. He worked as a Coal Truck Driver for Clay’s Trucking. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Andrew and Margaret Dorris, and John and Mary Lewis; father-in-law, William “Earl” Carver; and cousin, Chris Stinson.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sheryl Marie Dorris; sons, Rodney William Lee (McKenna) Dorris, Billy Lee Wayne Dorris, and Timmy Lee Gale Dorris; grandchildren, Reid, KayLee, and RaeLee; siblings, Timothy (RaVae) Dorris, Chad (Jennifer) Dorris, and John Dorris; parents, Jerry Lee and Sue Gail Dorris; and nieces and nephews, JoLyn (Dusty), Kevin (Leah), Katie Beth (Blake), Andrew (Marlie), Derek, and Madison.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 13, 2026 at 1PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Bro. Chad Dorris officiating. Burial in Dunmor Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10AM-1PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
