POWDERLY – Rodney Allen Douglas, 77, of Powderly, died Friday, November 16, 2018, at 5:25PM at Hermitage Care and Rehab in Owensboro. Mr. Douglas was born June 25, 1941, in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired coal miner for Peabody Coal Co. for over 20 years. He was the owner of Douglas Aviation for over 40 years, where he was a commercial pilot, instructor, and aircraft mechanic. He was a member of EAA Chapter 1184 for over 20 years and was a Young Eagles pilot. He was also a member of Central City Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, and Eastern Star for over 50 years. He was a member of Grapevine Baptist Church in Madisonville, and loved spending time with family and friends, especially his granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Douglas. He leaves behind his daughters, Tammi and Lee Carter and Lisa and Les Duncan, both of Greenville; granddaughters Nikki and Skye Carter of Greenville; and brother Phillip Douglas of Indianapolis, IN. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Dr. Bob Morrison officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
