Kirby Tapp was first and foremost a true gentleman. He was a dear friend and mentor to me and many teaching us how to live a complete life by example - service, love, loyalty, and commitment. I'll not forget you nor your lessons my friend. May God's Peace be with you.

Kirby was one of the most memorable environmental professionals I have had the honor to work with during my time at TVA. I remember his love of blues and golf and his signature line when he departed TVA "the thrill is gone". Truer words were never spoken. Rest in peace Kirby, you will be missed.
Ric Federico left a message on March 28, 2016:
I had the privilege of working with Kirby early in my environmental consulting career. His constant smile and easy laugh were strong reminders that the best moment to enjoy is this one - wherever you are or whatever you're doing. Kirby made his mark on those around him, and we all mourn his passing while celebrating the smile he would have for each of us, no matter what.

Carolyn, Anissa, Heather and Tanya, My thoughts and prayers are with you all. His smile and sense of humor are the first things that come to mind about Kirby. From the time I was a small child in church, there are so many memories. He was a wonderful person, and a great role model. I am sorry I will not be able to pay my respects in person.

Kevin Crum left a message on March 28, 2016:
I am so honored to call Kirby my brother. From the love and encouragement he always brought to the men at Green River Correctional Complex I know his walk with the Lord was real. I was one of the inmates preiveledged enough to be touched by his sermons, his encouragement, his warm hugs and infectious smile. It gives me courage to know soon and very soon we will be reunited with this dear man. My sincere condolences to you, his family. Know that his legacy lives on. Several of the men at GRCC are now out and serving the Lord and Kirby is one of the reasons. Be blessed, Kevin Crum

Kirby was always a person to whom I could speak openly with and he was always kind to my Daughter Leah. I was saddened to read about his passing on the EnSafe intranet. Saddened as I was it cannot compare to how he will be missed by family and those closest. God bless you and comfort you.

Carolyn, Anissa, Heather, and Tanya, Words are elusive at a time like this. But fond memories are easy to recall. Kirby has meant so much to me all through the years, not only while in Central City, but a strong bond that has remained across the years and across the miles. Alice and I send our love to all of you. What a resurrection Sunday Kirby will experience this year.
