CENTRAL CITY – Robert Lee Bidwell, Jr., 72, of Central City, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at 2:51PM at his home. Mr. Bidwell was born September 9, 1944, in Muhlenberg County. He was a supervisor at CSX Railroad, and was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Bidwell; and parents Robert and Margie Bidwell Sr. He is survived by his wife, Penny Bidwell; son Jeffrey Bidwell; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorial services will be Friday, May 12, 2017, at 4:00PM at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Travis Fox officiating, assisted by Bro. Donnie Wilkins. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4PM at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Gideons International. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. I grew an appreciation for Penny when I was Jason's teacher, likewise I grew an appreciation for Jr when I was Crystal's teacher. He appeared on Fri., before Mother's Day with beautiful flowers grown in his green house. Each 4th grader took home a potted plant for his/her mother. Planting memories that would last a lifetime.
