GREENVILLE – Rebecca Sue Raymer Rice, 70, of Greenville, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 7:25AM at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mrs. Rice was born January 26, 1942 in Muhlenberg County to the late Orval and Arnetta Raymer. She was a homemaker. She loved dearly her children, grandchildren, and church family. She was a founding member of New Life Church for 29 years, was a Sunday School teacher, and founder of their Ladies’ Retreat. She was a devoted pastor’s wife and sang in various gospel groups for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Donald Lee Raymer. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Rev. Wayne Rice; her children, who she was a loving mother to, Kevin (Terri) Rice of Central City, Keith (Carol) Rice of Greenville, and Stacie Cobb of Powderly; treasured grandchildren, Amy (Chad) Brewer, LeAnn (Michael) Ford, Ryan (Summer) Rice, Kolton Rice, Josie Rice, Ciara Cobb, Jordan Cobb, and Sara (Ricky) Simms; six great-grandchildren; sister Betty (Danny) Vincent of Greenville; brother Daniel (Roberta) Raymer of Greenville; many nieces and nephews, and a precious church family. Funeral services will be Friday, January 25, 2013 at 1:00PM at New Life Church in Powderly, with Rev. Wendell Lovell officiating. Burial in New Life Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8PM at New Life Church and Friday after 9:00AM at the church. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
