BELTON – Peggy Sue Williams, 73, of Belton, died Saturday, August 2, 2025 at her residence. She was born in the Greenville Hospital to Arthur and Gladys Knight on March 8, 1952.
She retired from the Hammond Indiana Public School system in facility maintenance, and was a union representative during that time for the local teacher’s union. She also owned and operated the Flower Barn in Beechmont, KY for many years. She spent much of her time volunteering locally, gardening, and reading. She enjoyed travel and history, and in her spare time enjoyed puzzles and mystery television, particularly “Murder, She Wrote”. She deeply loved her church and church family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and inspiration to all around her. Her infectious smile and laugh will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Gladys Knight; sisters, Sheila Horne, and Brenda Guida; brother, Roger Knight; and husband, Robert E. Williams.
She is survived by her son, Tim Williams (Dana); daughter, Vanessa Startkweather (Keith); sisters, Shirley Patrick, and Barbara Smith; brother, Mike Knight (Julie); stepchildren, Kimberley Rex, Michelle, Amy, Robert E. Williams (Alissa), and Robert L. Williams; nephew, Robert D. Williams (Shirl) and Loria Gatlin; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
