GREENVILLE – Mary Frances Skaggs died peacefully in her sleep after a long illness on July 1, 2018 at Diversicare of Greenville Skilled Nursing Center. She was born August 3rd, 1939 in Taylor County, Kentucky to Alvin & Nettie Farmer. Growing up in Taylor County, she met Elliott H Skaggs (from Taylor County) and was married in 1955. From that union, four children were born. She was a retired homemaker. Frances loved to travel, sew, and garden. She was member of the Muhlenberg County Homemakers Club & served as secretary to Macedonia Baptist Church in Rosewood until her illness. Survivors include: daughter-in-law Theresa Skaggs; children Diane (Steve) Dukes, Carol (Keith) Rice, and Billy (Gena) Skaggs; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband-Elliott Skaggs, and son-Mike Skaggs. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Rosewood. FRUITLAND PARK, FL – Mary Miller Skaggs, 87, of Fruitland Park, FL passed away peacefully on February 10, 2019. She was born January 11, 1932, in McLean Co., KY to William and Jennie Croft Miller. Mrs. Skaggs was a long-time member of the Methodist Church, principally worked as a homemaker but enjoyed Interior Decorating part time. She moved to Fruitland Park, FL in 1979 where she enjoyed being in her yard and gardening. Survivors include: daughter Paulette (Steve) Crumbaker of Fruitland Park, FL; son Jeff (Angie) Skaggs of Fruitland Park, FL; 3 grandchildren: Michelle (Jim) Miller, Stacy Rojewski and Trent Skaggs; 6 great as well as 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 2011. Graveside funeral services will be Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 11:00AM at Sacramento Methodist Cemetery, with Rev. Michael Deaton officiating. Burial to follow. Visitation will be Saturday at 10:00AM at Sacramento Methodist Church. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
