GREENVILLE – Mary Frances Skaggs died peacefully in her sleep after a long illness on July 1, 2018 at Diversicare of Greenville Skilled Nursing Center. She was born August 3rd, 1939 in Taylor County, Kentucky to Alvin & Nettie Farmer. Growing up in Taylor County, she met Elliott H Skaggs (from Taylor County) and was married in 1955. From that union, four children were born. She was a retired homemaker. Frances loved to travel, sew, and garden. She was member of the Muhlenberg County Homemakers Club & served as secretary to Macedonia Baptist Church in Rosewood until her illness. Survivors include: daughter-in-law Theresa Skaggs; children Diane (Steve) Dukes, Carol (Keith) Rice, and Billy (Gena) Skaggs; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband-Elliott Skaggs, and son-Mike Skaggs. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Rosewood.
