CENTRAL CITY – Marie Anita Smith Martin, 77, of Central City, died Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 12:22AM at her residence.  Mrs. Martin was born June 3, 1944, in Muhlenberg County.  She was a member of New Emmanuel Church.  She enjoyed flowers and plants, and she could bring to life anything she touched.  She also enjoyed music and dancing, and she was a great cook.  She had an open, loving heart and never turned away anyone in need.  She was a mother figure to lots of children that were not her own.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Pazella Saulsberry; and brother, James Saulsberry.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace Ray Martin, Sr.; sons Wallace Martin, Jr. (fiancee’ Deanna Hudson) and Randall Gene Martin, both of Central City; daughters Belinda Kay Martin of Las Vegas and Latoya Phelps of Madisonville; brother Arthur (Robbie) Saulsberry; grandchildren Terrence Michael Martin (fiancee’ Jessica Campbell), Myeisha Martin, Brianna Hastings, Markia Martin, Omarrion Wells, and Willow Bolden; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 12:00 noon at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Pastor Carmel Rich officiating, assisted by Rev. Otis Cunningham.  Burial in West End Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday after 10:00AM at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
