GREENVILLE – Lillian Ruth Wells, 86, of Evansville, IN formerly of Greenville, KY passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Good Samaritan Home with her family by her side. Lillian was born on October 25, 1928 to Omer Granvel Murphy and Eula Mae (Eades) Murphy. On January 3, 1946 she married Melvin Otha Wells. They were happily married until his death in 1980. She lived in Greenville, Kentucky for over 81 years until 2010 when she moved to Newburgh, IN to live with her daughter and son-in-law. For the last four years, she resided at Good Samaritan Home. She was a life-long member of Sharon General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Jesse Willard Murphy. She is survived by her daughter, Anita (Rodney) Crick, a grandson, Todd Crick, a great granddaughter, Rachel Crick, a half sister, Judy Wheeler, a half brother, Donnie Murphy, a step-mother, Dorothy Golden, a step-sister, Brenda Paris, a step-brother, Gerald Toomey, a sister-in-law, Hannah Wells, an aunt, uncle, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Good Samaritan Home for their kindness and loving care. Also, thanks to Dr. Uloth and a special thanks to Heritage Hospice for their compassionate care during the last several months of Lillian’s life. Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, Kentucky with Dr. Ron Wells officiating. Burial will be in Greens Chapel Cemetery.
