CENTRAL CITY — John Richard Cook, 56, of Central City died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. He was born July 10, 1954, in Harlan County. He was a coal miner. He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” and Thelma Cook. Survivors include his wife, Angie Spears Cook of Central City; a daughter, Heather Cook of Central City; a son, John R. Cook Jr. of Cookville, Tenn.; two brothers, Bill (Marcia) Cook and Doug (Marie) Cook, all of Central City; a grandson, Hunter Baker of Central City; and several nieces and nephews. Services are at noon Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
