GREENVILLE – Jerry Glenn Pentecost, 70, of Greenville, died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at 7:15AM at Skyline Hospital in Nashville. Mr. Pentecost was born February 8, 1941 in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired coal miner with River Queen Coal, and a member of Sharon General Baptist Church. He loved hunting and fishing, and quail hunting was his favorite. He is preceded in death by his parents, Babe and Novella Pentecost; and brother Joe Pentecost. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary Lou Whitler Pentecost; son Rev. Darren (Kathy) Pentecost of Greenville; daughters Gail (Wendell) McPherson of Dunmor and Tracy (Jimmy) Warner of Greenville; grandchildren Matt & Jeremy Greenwood, the late Jennie Beth Pentecost, Rebecca Haley, Rachel Pentecost, Brittany Napier, Macy Warner, and Zach Warner; nine great-grandchildren; brother Mike (Rita) Pentecost of Greenville; sister Brenda Kay (Danny) Walker of Greenville; and sister-in-law Sissy Pentecost of Greenville. Jerry lived a beautiful life. One thing remained constant thoughout his life – his deep love for his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, who will be greatly missed but his love and spirit will remain with us always. May God bless each and all. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home, with Rev. Walter Evitts officiating, assisted by Rev. Roger Wright. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
