SOUTH CARROLLTON – Jerry Lee Barbee, 71, of South Carrollton, died Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mr. Barbee was born November 20, 1942, in Beech Creek. He was a business owner since 1969, was owner of Mr. B’s Furniture, and a member of Richardsons Chapel General Baptist Church. He was Mayor of South Carrollton, a Kentucky Colonel, an honorary citizen of Boys Town, and a member of the Jaycee Club. He was preceded in death by his sons, Ricky Lee Barbee and Jeffery Dwayne Barbee; and parents Evan Alvis and Thelma Irene McClure Barbee. He is survived by his daughters, Teresa (Randy) West of Evansville, Elizabeth Barbee-Antonio of Beaver Dam, and Lenora “Lynn” (Jeremy) Agee of Drakesboro; grandchildren Justin (Anne) Buchanan, Lacey West, Chase West, Rylan Dockery, Caleb Antonio, Deborah (Lawrence) Sandoval, Kristina Garrett, Jordon Garrett, and Josh Walker; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sister Retha Baize of Island; and brothers James Barbee of Beaver Dam, Jewell Barbee of Waldorf, MD, and Darvin Barbee of Drakesboro. Funeral services will be Friday, September 12, 2014, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. James Barbee officiating. Burial in Forest Grove Cemetery.
