BROWDER – Janice Smith McKinney, 84, of Browder, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky in Owensboro on Sunday, July 13, 2025. Ms. McKinney was born September 2, 1940 in Muhlenberg County. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from Sumitomo. She was Valedictorian of the Class of 1959 Hughes Kirk High School and was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edna Earl Smith; husband, Wendell McKinney; daughter, Pamela McKinney Blackwell; two sisters, and one brother.

She is survived by her son, Kevin (Kim) McKinney; grandson, Tyler McKinney; granddaughter, Ashley Smith; brothers, Larry Smith, and Keith Smith; and great-grandchildren, Easton McKinney, Elayna McKinney, Chrislyn Gregory, and Camreigh Browning; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 18, 2025 at 12PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Carroll officiating. Burial in Forest Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10AM -12PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at the funeral home.
