POWDERLY — James William Tucker, 91, of Powderly, died at 10:32 a.m. Monday, July 4, 2011, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Greenville. He was born July 21, 1919, in Muhlenberg County, was a member of Mercer Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II, and had worked for the Kentucky State Highway Department. He is survived by his wife, Wynola Holland Tucker of Powderly; a son, Monty Tucker of Central City; a grandson, Scott (Kim) Staples; three stepdaughters, Freda Henry of Bowling Green, Ann Grundy-Holzworth and Gayla Wester, both of Greenville; six stepgrandchildren; nine great-stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home by the Rev. Curtis McGehee who will be assisted by the Rev. Travis Fox. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
