CALHOUN – Ida Jean Harper, 80, of Calhoun, KY, was taken home April 19, 2019, at home with loved ones by her side. She was born December 7, 1938, in Mclean County, KY to the late James and Lena Ferguson of Livermore, KY. For nearly 50 years, Jean was a dedicated book keeper for many local businesses in Central City and Owensboro, KY. She enjoyed cooking, renovating and decorating homes, and spending time with family and friends. She had a passion for being at the lake. She had a great sense of humor and cherished the time she spent joking with her two sons. She also adored her pets, especially her beloved dog, ‘Jake’. She was preceded in death by her true love and husband, Charles ‘Bug’ Harper and a sister, Brenda Joyce Cobb. She is survived by a sister, Carolyn Chambers (Jim ‘Jimbo’) of Calhoun, KY; a brother, Paul Kenneth Ferguson (Pam) of Central City, KY and two sons; James Rodney Tarrants (Diane – deceased) and Thomas Dewayne Tarrants (Lisa), both of North Carolina; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00AM at Tucker’s Funeral Home at 113 N 3rd St., Central City, KY, with Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. A burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City, KY. Visitation will be Saturday after 10:00AM at the funeral home.
