CENTRAL CITY – Howard LeRoy Spurlock, 83, of Central City, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at 9:00AM at his home. Mr. Spurlock was born November 10, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a supervisor with Silver State Disposal in Las Vegas, NV, and was a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during World War II and in Korea. Survivors include his wife, Louise Millard Spurlock; sons Dan (Lee) Spurlock of Senneca, IL, Allen (Beth) Spurlock, Joe (Paula) Spurlock of Wilmington, IL, and Donald (Beata) Murphy of Slidell, LA; daugher Tammy (Mark) Miller of Bowling Green; grandchildren Jared Spurlock, Joe Spurlock, Lukas Spurlock, Annes Monferdini, John Monferdini, Nathan Spurlock, GiGi Spurlock, Brian Spurlock, Aaron Murphy, Lesly Shanks, Terri Miller, and Matthew Miller; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas Spurlock of Bloomington, IL. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Gene Garner officiating, assisted by Anthony Madison. Burial in Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday after 11:00AM at the funeral home.
