CENTRAL CITY- Hayes Lewis Shelton, 79, of Central City died Friday, November 28^th, 2025 at the Heartford House in Owensboro. He was born in Muhlenberg County on August 22, 1946, where he was an electrician at TVA. Mr. Shelton was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Central City and an avid University of Louisville fan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hayes and Flora Bard Shelton; siblings, David Shelton, Herman Shelton, Wallace Shelton, Ernest Shelton, Thelma Shelton Leggs, and twin sister Hazel Spencer; loving dachshund companion, Brownie.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara Shrewsberry Shelton; children, Gaylord Shelton, Monica Shelton, Melissa (Kenneth) Richie, Phillip (Megan) Shelton; seven grandchildren; siblings, Lawrence (Juanita) Shelton, Walter Shelton, Lauretta (Charles) Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6^th, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Central City with Bro. Otis Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Reynolds Martin Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 6^th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the church.
